How To Enjoy Tea

By Robert Neely

Over five thousand years, Far eastern people have been using tea as a good natural home treatment for a lot of health issues. Hot tea can bring peace along with restoration to an individual. Oftentimes lots of novice tea drinkers have undesirable tea time, due to their lack of knowledge on how to prepare tea. Studying the right way can certainly enhance the taste and the health rewards.

The creation of tea bags during the early 20th century revolutionized the tea market. It was easier and faster to make a cup of tea. It definitely made it faster to spread tea to the western market. Most industry experts however would rather prepare tea the traditional way using loose tea leaves and tea strainer, mainly because they are generally lower priced as well as better in quality. Any time preparing by the traditional way, it is very important to have the proper relative amount of tea and water. Single teaspoon per Eight ounce is known to be a good ratio.

When fixing tea for the first time, many of us disregard the importance of water. It is important to use pure filtered water to get the best flavor. Using previously boiled left over water will degrade the flavor. There are arguments with the ideal temperature; a lot of experts think the right temperature of water for green tea is approximately 80 degrees Celsius. Regarding oolong and black tea, the temperature could be a bit higher. Having a thermometer would probably help, but it may be inconvenient. A lot of Chinese chefs figure out the water temperature by just looking at the bubbles. 80 degrees Celsius occurs when tiny individual bubbles are developing to the surface.

When the water is set, it is time for steeping. Green tea normally comes with more grassy taste than black and oolong tea. For that reason soaking more than 2 minutes can be too much. Most industry experts will say 2 minutes is sufficient. But, if steeped just one minute, it may possibly not have adequate flavors. For black tea and oolong tea, appropriate steeping time is approximately 3 to 5 minutes. This is just a guideline and there is not any right or wrong in terms of taste. Some people surprisingly love the bitterness of tea.

Many people today are interested in enjoying tea for the health improvements such as cancer prevention, anti-aging and weight loss. There are also other ways to gain the benefits without the need of brewing the tea. Mixing Matcha, fine quality tea powder from Japan, with lemon water may be a delicious alternative. Also consuming green tea pills is the easiest method of gaining from tea.
